Our Story

Welcome to Moments That Take My Breath Away! My name is Stephanie. I'm originally from Wichita, KS but moved to Liberty, MO to attend college. I met my wonderful husband, Mike, through a mutual friend in 2004 and we got married in June of 2008.

I graduated with my undergraduate degree in history in 2006 and then got my Masters in Library Science degree in 2008. As much as my parents wanted us to move back down to Wichita, we decided to live in Missouri and bought our first home in April of 2009.

We have two dogs who are spoiled to death, a Corgi and a Lab/Airedale Terrier mix. They will always be our first babies!

Meet the Family

I have always wanted kids, but we wanted to graduate from college and get settled into a home before seriously thinking about starting a family. Finally, in December of 2009 we decided that it was time and we were pregnant in late April 2010! We had our daughter, Grace Elaine, in January of 2011 and life has never been the same!

October 21st, 2012 during a routine Gallbladder removal I went into heart failure and was later diagnosed with Takotsubo Syndrome (also known as Broken Heart Syndrome) that led to 2 days in the ICU and a long recovery. Thankfully there was no permanent damage to my heart and we were given the okay to try for another baby shortly after I was healed.

We found out in February 2012 that we were pregnant with our son Connor and we welcomed him into our lives in October of 2012!

I was a librarian in my former life, but am now a stay at home mom and Mike is a software developer in Kansas City. Our family is now complete and there is never a boring moment in our house!
